Memorial Service : Kya

A friend of Tracy’s (Jana) has kept a blog for Kya & posted information today on a memorial service & where flowers may be sent.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for their family.

Yesterday afternoon we got a very emotional text from Kya to her buddy Elyana at about 1:00, just a few hours before she went with Jesus. It was a picture of Kya with simply the words. “Love you Ellie” I wept. Tracy always called our Elyana “Ellie Belly” Tracy always had a new & silly nickname ready for all the kids & Kya.
Elyana sent a message back to Kya…blowing lots of goodbye/see you later kisses.

These girls were only 1 month apart in age, so spent their entire first two years together. Every time Elyana would come into the room where Kya was in China she would crane her neck to keep her eyes on her buddy. And would smile.

These friends shared the same play room, slept just beds apart, shared each other’s smiles & the same nannies. Then their buddy Eli arrived. I’m sure he brought life & activity to their lives.
These kids only had their nannies, each other & most importantly a Heavenly Father who predestined & orchestrated the details of the forever family they would find His love in.

We prayed & prayed for healing for Kya….one day we hoped they would all reunite & we would be taking a new pictures of these sweet kids. Their will always be a piece of our little group missing. Until heaven.

We rejoice for Kya’s complete healing, yet heaven seems so far from today. But truthfully none of us are guaranteed the next minute or day. Every day counts. Every moment. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus, making our mark upon the world like Kya & her family have done. Let’s “not grow weary in well doing”

One sweet day we will see Kya run & play with her new heart. I long for that day when these orphanage buddies will be reunited. Oh the smiles & joy in that day. I cannot imagine life without the hope of Jesus Christ & the place He prepares for those who love Him.
I Thes 4:13 13 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.”

Thank you all once again for your prayers & love.

  1. What a sweet, sweet post. Now I’m in tears all over again. Thank you so much for sharing. I can see why Tracy thinks you are so special. ❤ And yes…she is so much fun with the little nick names she comes up with for all the kids, isn't she? I love that about her. She's so much fun. (((hugs))) and blessings to you,

    1. Thank you for all your kind words & for all the beautiful pictures you allowed us to use on Kya’s video. It’s almost finished & should be posted soon! I’m so glad Tracy has a wonderful friend like you. I’ve also enjoyed reading your blog this week. I am praying the service is blessed & that healing will come for the Keen family. So thankful we serve a merciful God. ~Cindy
